The fourth goal, a header in the 77th minute from a well-placed cross by Kimmich, effectively sealed the game for the Bavarians.
With this result, Bayern Munich increased their points tally to 9, securing the second spot in the league standings, just behind Hannover 96, who have 10 points. Meanwhile, Mainz now finds themselves in 14th place with 3 points.
